Are these Cinnamon Rolls, or Cinnamon Buns?

Is it not a rolled piece of dough and cinnamon? Would one need to bake it as a log for it to be a cinnamon roll? Does cutting it before baking somehow then constitute it as a bun?

They would be part of the bun family, and the confusion is due to the marketing strategy of a misguided company that actually calls croissants "crescent rolls". Through many years of corporate brainwashing the term cinnamon "roll" has become acceptable among the grocery trade, but not as much with the bakers. Hope this clears up the debate!

I'd call those cinnamon rolls. For me to recognize it as a cinnamon bun it would have to be larger.

It seems as if they can be called both. Their origin is Finland. So say Wikipedia .
