So i was wondering if it is okay to put two baby vieled chameleons in a cage and have them grow up together. Is it okay too have those two or will there be problem with them?

Up to a certain age its okay, really depends on the individual chams honestly but once they hit a certain age they should be housed apart... Veilds tend to be the most aggressive... But AGAIN each cham is different

chameleons are solitary animals...keep them seperate...you also want to make sure that they cant see each other, so keep an opaque visible barrier in between their cages

oh wow.. i did nt know that? is that the same for all kinds af chameleons? or is there as breed where they like or dont mind being in the same cage?

You can put pgymy's together but that is about it. The rest all need their space. Some also need fairly large cages so that may limit how many you get.

you can keep Jacksons togher. I have 2 full grown girls togher in a 2x2x4 cage and they get along just fine. They both eat drink and will lay nose to nose in there basking area. Now I say this but I also have another cage just needing splined and screened that I just built because I want to keep there poop to there self as there both healthy and I want them to stay that way. Just because you CAn dosent mean it is a good idea.:D

For the benefit of newbies searching for beginner information, it is more accurate to say you MAY be able to keep two female jackson's together! Not all will be as tolerant as yours in that small a cage. Some jax females are quite territorial and some don't care (my experience).

Best way to think about it is... alright when they are young but once they get old enough its best to seperate them. Whether they show aggression or not they will eventually get stressed out. Who wants to fight for food?

What about a male and female jax together from very young and on

Not a good idea and just not fair to them. If the male wants to breed he'll pester the female constantly. And, if the female is gravid she won't tolerate the male so you'd need to move her anyway. On the other hand sometimes a pair kept together constantly isn't stimulated to breed at all. Doesn't mean they are not stressed by the constant presence of another cham. In a cage that small don't do it. Just not enough territory for each cham.
