My last guy didn't bother with mirrors, either; I'm afraid the best firing I ever saw was when he was at the vet's, and when he had antibiotic shots. If you have access to another panther, you could try showing it to him in a controlled situation. I'm personally not sure how far to go in trying to get them to fire - aside from trying to impress a potential mate or a clear inferior, firing usually seems to be done when the cham is under some stress.

Mine will often fire up in the morning just for the hell of it...I wonder whether she views me as a "potential mate" or a "clear inferior." For the most part I think she's just campaigning to be fed.

Take him outside and you will see him flare up in color for about 30 seconds (to absorb sun) after that he will still be flared up but he will be laying one side towards the sun and be dark.

Mine flares up when he eats Kale lol.

Sounds very much l.ike my Panther, he will fire in the morning as soon as i fill his feeding cup! :D

My panther will only fully fire up when he sees my guinea pigs and they try to get closeto him and sniff him and what not. He's a chill guy. Sometimes he gets really colorful in the shower, but he never fully fires up like with the guinea pigs.
