help

Will someone please help me on taming my adult cham.he has such a attitude problem . I have only held him maybe twice since he was little he has no intendsy of even trying to come to me. I'm getting scared to even try when I do try I just get hissing but never been biten. I'm sick of using a stick to get him out. He's needs to know I'm not to hurt him just love him do I just force him on me. I've tried everything.

I grew up wild and crazy and in nature and dealing with all kinds of dangerous wild animals. I seem to therefore lack some of the basic fear a lot of people have regarding small little animals with bad attitudes! I just stick my hands in there and catch the animal! One from the top to distract and the other from the bottom unnoticed. Then once outside the cage they become easier to handle. That said, as a panther chameleon breeder, if a newly purchased chameleon does not loose it's attitude quick I consider it to have a character flaw and I will not breed it because our focus in breeding is: health, character and beauty! And in that order! In short, starting to handle your chameleon is what helps the most. If you significant other is better at catching your cham, let them do it and then hand the chameleon to you once it calms down. Hope this helps!

I can't even attempt to grab him without him hissing or biting and he hates gloves

He might just be "that" type of chameleon. The complete hands off type. If he always hisses I would suggest staying with the stick from now on. You could try hand feeding him. Like show it to him, put it in your hand, put your hand somewhere he can see the bug move, patiently wait till he takes it. Repeat. Hope this helps.

I have an evil one too sometimes you get ones that like to be picked up sometimes you don't. I find once you get them in your hand they tend to come down. But the problem is getting them in your hand. I get tags my mind almost every day by one of my male Panthers. Comes out mouth open ready to bite just close to the tank ready to fight. I recommend taking them out every other day seems to be working

He's a teen veiled almost adult.he was my first cham and he wasn't a baby he was like a toddler when we purchased him. I guess I never handled him when he was younger and now I'm just scared to and he acts like he loves me when I don't touch him but my Jackson is the sweetest thing he falls asleep on me sometimes lol

I guess if I get bit I get bit I try just to hold my hand out but he just stares lol I need to tame him n let him know I'm not to harm him. But I'm just scared and they sense that
