HELP! Crust buildup under Chams Eyelids

Hey Guys! My cham is keeping his eyes closed during the day but he is fully awake. When he opens his eyes there seems to be a build up under his eyelids. It's yellowish and appears to be hard. I believe it's the reason my cham is keeping his eyes closed most of the time. Any ideas on what this might be? Any ideas on how to treat? I am going to take him to a vet ASAP. Thanks in advance for any help.

It sounds like he may have either something in his eye or an eye infection. What type of UV bulb are you using? Some types of coiled (twisty) UV bulbs have been known to cause eye issues in chameleons. Please fill out this 'How to ask for help' form and post some pics of his eyes if you have any.

Just wondering how your cham was doing. I've had 2 chams that have ended up with eye infection. 1 of my Nosy bes lived for almost 2 years with it and he eventually lost most of his sight in one eye. My vet tried everthing and nothing worked. Never figured out what caused them either. I do have almost 10 chams at any given time. And that is when i don't have babies. lol. Let us know how he is doing and what the vet says. i'd really be interested .

What brand and type (compact, long linear tube, spiral) UVB light are you using?

This is where I was gonna go.... Linda is on it! :D
