Any other Cham keepers in NY?? I'm looking to keep a male and female together..
Yes, I'm new to this hobby.. I'm a reef system builder/keeper/stocker.. I kept a 450 gallon Hard coral Reef system for years that required daily monitoring and serious knowledge of chemistry.. Any other reefers or ex reefers here??
I hope to learn a lot before I take the plunge into my 8ftby 4ft deep and wide cham home build..

Welcome to the forums. Most species of chameleons have to have seperate enclosures. What kind of chameleon are you planning to get?

Definetly a sambava or a ambilobe.. Even in a enclosure the size of the one explained in the first post I'd need two separate enclosures??

A Sambava or an Ambilobe would definitely need seperate enclosures. They will also have to be kept where they can not even see each other. Just seeing each other would cause them stress.

Oh, okay thanks.. What about splitting a tall6ft enclosure with mirror like pice of plastic reflector??? Will they know it's a mirror or will it become stressed by it's own reflection??

They would be stressed with there reflection. The male will need at least a 4 foot high cage and the female would like a 4 foot high cage but some people keep the females in a 3 foot high.

Thanks anyone here going to the rep expo in White plains?? I'll be there looking for everything, enclosure, humidity monitor, lamps, eco vines... I'll be using some stuff from my reef to control misting and heat and cooling of the enclosure..
