Healthy trade initiative

I stumbled across this recently, healthy trade initiative, which is seeking to reduce the likelihood of disease spread in the herp hobby. It seems like a great idea to make it easy and practical for people breeding herps to get disease testing performed and be able to show certification that they are taking steps to reduce the spread of disease.

 

[Motherlode Chameleon]

That is an interesting topic about Zoonotic diseases in herps. I have only had one instance of concern about Zoonotic diseases and that was from one of my Trioceros melleri. A Trioceros melleri arrived in nasty shape and I red alerted the Zoonotic diseases possibilty. Nothing happened with that individual however the concern was there. I think Zoonotic diseases could happen wtih other chameleons species. However I have not had any issues other the one mentioned previously.
