Hand feeding WIN!!

I planned on starting to try to hand feed some and my plan was every 2 days to give it a try........So 2 days ago I tried to hand feed my new Panther. It only took a couple of minutes before he ate it. I had to lay the dubia roach upside down in my hand because I didn't know how long it would take and they are fast! It was still for a bit and then it started flailing it's little legs and that was it, my panther took him out!

As if that weren't enough of a win....Today, I barely got my hand to him before he had his tongue out and ready to grab it! As soon as I was in range, boom!

It's a little thing, but it's a big deal for me!

Oh how I love my reptiles!! No matter how many times I handle them I still get excited over the firsts of the new one! And everything after that too actually, this will never get old for me!!

Hand feeding is awesome! I never get tired of hand feeding. It really is the easiest way to bond with a chameleon. I started out hand feeding my panther just like your describing. Once he was real comfortable with that I started holding the feeders to far for him to grab with that long tongue of his- and I would put my free hand out so he could step onto it and get it. I would have to move very slow or he would lose focus on the bug and get shy. Now he will sit in one of my hands, and eat out of the other :) As soon as I walk into the room he comes to the front of the cage almost every time. I'm excited for you!

That is a great idea!!

My veiled that I had always wanted to be out with me and I never hand fed. He would practically run to the door as I was opening it and almost jump on my arm.
I'm sure I won't be that lucky by chance again.

And again this afternoon he stayed engaged for 3 more.....even with my husband standing there to watch!

Love it!

Of course my hubbie was like, what's the big deal? He could really care less, lol. He is NOT a lizard guy. Just lets me alone in my passion. As I do for him and his car stuff. It works. lol

Ugh, little stinker has decided that he would rather his food be hand delivered than go down to the feeding cup for it.

I fed him 2 this morning by hand and then when I went back later he has not touched the ones in the cup. When I put them in my hand, he couldn't get there fast enough. Silly boy! I don't want him to only want to be hand fed!!

Lol, my Earl is the exact same way. I didn't have time to hand feed him this morning before work, so I threw some in a cup and hung it in his vines. I come home from work and of course they are untouched. Little turd of mine :)
