Hello, do female chameleons pre dig holes in the soil to lay eggs and come back to them later?

Hi. Usually once they start digging, they continue until they lay their eggs and cover their holes. What has your chameleon been doing?

Some females will dig a couple of test holes first... before settling on one hole and digging it until they're happy with it ...and then laying eggs in it, filling it in and tamping it down.

Shes been pasing arond the the cage and i saw a shallow hole in the soil of her plant.

Hi and welcome! Did you provide her with a lay bin? She needs a plastic bin around 10”x10” and at least 8 inches deep with some washed play sand at least 6 inches deep and just damp enough to hold a tunnel. She should lay her eggs in that. Some people will even add a small plant in it because chams like to lay their eggs near the roots.
