I have 2 veiled chams and they are each around 1 year old. I got them delivered to me from Florida when they were both around 3 months. I housed them together for a good part of 4 months and then got them each their own cages (or as I like to refer to them, their penthouses). They have been living apart now for 5 months and are very healthy and happy. If your still with me here's where the story gets good. Today I went and got a new branch for Arleens cage and wanted to put it in. When I got home with the new branch I took her out of her cage and put her back with my male Lazer, in his cage. I only needed 20 minutes or so to put the new branch in, so I watched their behavior to make sure they wouldn't start hissing at each other. I actually got the complete opposite reaction of that. They went to each other like they were long lost lovers. There they were doing the lizard nasty right in front of me!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt believe it!! I think they were actually excited to see each other again. Needless to say I love these animals and I hope I am lucky enough to have some babies here in the future!!

NO they are not related. They are from 2 different breeders. Ya that would be pretty wierd. I definately wouldn't have been excited if that were the case.

Thats good to hear... I'm sure you know that people who have two that are about the same age usually bought them from the same place and the same parents... Always the possibility... :p

I got them from FL Chams, and I have the names of the different breeders. I hope there is no funny business going on down there?? I wouldn't think so?????

Love at first sight, eh? :)

Once I had the total opposite experience when introducing potential mates together! Good that you watched them for a while to make sure there weren't any harmful confrontations.

Congrats,
Drew

I'm sorry your had a different experience with your male and female.... I sware its because they spent time together in the same cage growing up. But I don't know??? I do feel super lucky!!

Being related would not be bad. Their genetics are totally different than ours. With that said, chameleon inbreeding would not produce "Hills have eyes" offspring.

"Hill's Have Eyes" thats funny, actually that movie was demented... Either way I am so excited I could possibly have my first clutch of babies.
