Gotta Love Summer in Early February

We got some very nice, sunny and warm weather here today so the chams and I celebrated with a day outside. I took a bunch of pictures, but as usual, most were blurry and unfocused. A few were somewhat viewable though

Here's a couple of the Meller's. They've finally started to really take off with their growing over the last month and I'm really proud of them. I was trying to capture the closest one drinking from the leaves in front of him but these were the best I got:

These two pics were taken seconds apart and are notable because of how fast Janet started turning dark with me and the camera in her cage. She's a Ch. (T.) jacksonii jacksonii.

Here's Junior enjoying the Ficus out front. He may be a bit obscured, but at least he wasn't gaping at me. He's fine with women holding him, but he HATES me. :D

I also got a couple pics of the flappers.

I tried to get some pics of the Ambanja-type pair, Sidney and Nancy but this was the only one that sorta turned out. Btw, Sidney gets a lot of white on his flanks when he's mad that's quite stunning.

ONE of the pics of this carpet male turned out :(

And the last chams are a couple of three week old baby panthers from the Parang clutch. Junior is in that Ficus somewhere also  The most frustrating thing about my camera is that photos of babies turn out like this (or, usually, much worse).

Oh, and I couldn't resist adding this one up. End of the day with the Pacific through the trees:

Ahhh kent amazing. That last photo makes me wanna get the hell outta Georgia and move to the coast somewhere

Hate to say it, but I took three photos of that sunset, and they don't come ANYWHERE near capturing what it was. Do it....

You Californians and your warmth and your incredible chams and your.. In minnesota it's still cold and snow-covered! It's 4F right now :(
But wow, beautiful chams and a beautiful sunset!
And I'll be heading to san Diego over spring break, so its all good!

Dang you Kent. It's -20C here. :( However that is right tropical compared to the -35C to -40C temps we've been having.

Those dilepis grow really slow eh? The "Parang Juniors" will outgrow them in no time. In fact, I can see those babies already gotten bigger since you last posted pics. Give Junior an extra bug for me.

Thanks for sharing,
Trace

They're all gorgeous Kent! That Ambanja is really stunning, as is Janet Jacksonii!
And why-o-why must I live in Minnesota????!

Hope you get some rain soon I hear CA. is on the verge of the worst drought they ever had. Not everything is roses you have to take the good with the bad.

sooo lucky. is 35F here, and thats really cold for New orleans. i cant bear the cold. my cham doesnt care, with his constant tropical climate.

I have to say I agree with everyone else. Gorgeous photos, but I hate you for having such nice weather, lol. :p

You guys won't be hating us Californians for our weather once it changes in a few months. No one can argue that temperatures in the 100's are any where near comfortable. I wish it was cooler here right now, but my veiled prefers it warmer. I guess I'm happy if my pets are...go figure.

we have the same prob in New Orleans. 95-100F in the summer with 90% humidity. at least you have dry heat. its like a really wet oven here. it just gets alot cooler here. lol

Kent,

All the pictures were great, but the last was to die for. Even here in very central Florida they never look that nice ! While we can also usually boast along with your nice weather, we are likely to hit 25 degrees tonight, as cold as it has been in many years. I am not native Floridian, although I am now here to stay, but one of the humorous things that a northerner first hears here are "cold weather warnings" when its supposed to go below 35 F. No kidding. Its serious in its own right, as with so many senior citizens (I'm headed there) who only own a sweater (and are losing their minds), pneumonia is a real threat at such temps. As an aside, I have three grandchildren, but am still "young" in the local Wal-Marts. Its true ! I have lived in -30 F myself in Colorado, but you can get spoiled here :) So where is Kent with the Corona ?

Wow!

25F in Florida?!?!? I had no idea that was possible. More iguanas and veileds falling out of trees?

Many, many thanks for all the comments everyone

Everyone is looking great! Im really digging those flappers:D I too am jealous of your weather. If I ever move again I would like to go somewhere near san diego but, its quite aways from all my family. Hows the inground lawn sprinkler business over there?
