http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/animals/chameleons/-/65-gallon-chameleon-package/

could that house a full grown chameleon? or would i eventually need to upgrade???

Common misconception, its mesh, you want the screen cages, because they cant burn up. My friend has a 5 inch hole in her mesh cage because she set her lamp on the top. :) so unles you have clamp lamps or a stand to hang the lights no i think its a no go. But the cage is definately big enough, if you find a pacage like that with a screen cage, depending on the price, think about getting it.

I'm sorry to say but your incorrect. The cage shown in the package is fine for use with a chameleon along with a heat lamp placed directly on top. Many of us do it that way. Your friend must have had either a bulb that was physically resting on the screen or over 100 watts. That issue could have been addressed by using a deeper dome lamp.

A female at full size would find a 18x18x36 to be suitable and a male would be happy in a 14x14x48. Remember height is very important when selecting a cage for your chameleon. Placment of your cage also plays a roll in your chameleons well being. Chameleons find security by having the ability to climb and hide. The chameleon cage should be placed on a structure that allows the chameleon to climb above your eye level. Provde plenty of vines and plants to allow the chameleon to hide aswell. Good Luck!:)
