Hey guys

New dude I have had for a week is gnawing on the big stocky branches of a Schefflera tree in his cage in the morning evey once and a while. I mean really gnaws like he is trying to bite off a peice. Is this normal or OK? I have never in my 10 years with Panther chams have seen this.

Thanks
Ross

hahaha well the part of the branch he goes after has no leaf even close. so it could be the other haha
anyone else

Yep mine does this too every once in a while. For some reason he always does it to the same branch, at the same spot of the branch. It's a thin vine like branch, and everytime I see him do it he actually bites off a tiny piece of bark and eats it. Very thin bark though and no impaction or other problem has ever come because of it.

I figure he must be doing it for some reason unknown to us humans, and seeing as he wants to do it, why stop him..

good to know! I have not seen him actually get a chunk but he sure tried today looked like a dog trying to chew on a bone for a few seconds very amusing.
