These are just wonderful little chameleons. They have a ton of attitude to match how striking they are.

Just some chameleon eye candy!

:) Wow Joel, very pretty indeed, the female is absolutely stunning, chameleon eye candy indeed.
and tell me .. is that a very super smart new greenhouse too? Looks very nice.

Great pictures and species! My Furcifer willsii was a great species to keep in my greenhouse. They have a lot of personality. Have you got any gravid females?

Thanks Tabitha! Yes, it is. I have been in the process of building another greenhouse since my other was mangled by a DirectTV Technician.

The female is my favorite. I need to take a pic that shows size. They are tiny. They remind me of chunky little toads. Hope all is well.

I am fairly certain almost all of the willsii that came in were gravid. I think I saw maybe one that wasn't. Kind of sad.

Joel

If they survived importation in good condition. Why is the fact that the females are gravid sad? I would not be surprised if Furcifer willsii was a high fecundity species in the wild.

Good luck incubating your eggs if your females lay for you.

Such paranoid faces they make, especially the female. I hope they do well for you ^^. How did a Direct TV Tech mangle your greenhouse... it's not that hard to see o.O?

I don't say this in regards to wild numbers. I say this because most imported chameleons that come in gravid don't fare well in the end. Every once in a while it will all work out smoothly, but not that often. Also, even when you get the eggs, the survival rate of the hatchlings is not always great. I would much rather have a nice healthy specimen and attempt the breeding in captivity.

If mine do lay, I will be very interested to see how the eggs fare.

He was working on my dish. I head an awful noise. I went to inspect and found the technician had slipped on my roof and put his entire leg through the roof of my greenhouse. I helped him free his leg and get out, but the weight he had to put on the panels caused damage as well. So I used that as an excuse to build another greenhouse and make it larger. ;)

I think most wild caught Furcifer willsii this time of the year are going to be gravid females. Especially If this species does prove to become a high fecundity species in the wild.

My wild caught clutch incubated 14 months before the last egg molded over. This is a species I want to keep and give a go at breeding again.
