My husband and I are trying to breed dubia roaches. We won a breeder starter kit off of a facebook christmas giveaway. It came with roach chow, water crystals, water conditioner, small food bowl, 25 adult female and 10 male dubia roaches. I have read that people normally keep 1 male to every 10 females. they always feeding off their smaller males and keeping the female count up for colony growth. I been having issues sexing them because they are one molt away from being full adults for fresh breeding. After searching all morning, I found a site that helps sexing them. I hope this helps anyone else that is breeding or planning on breeding.

I would leave yours as they are. I personally just leave them to it and don't have a set ratio of males to females but many have 1 male to four females. Keep them warm and fed on high protein foods and leave for 6 months. After this you will have loads.

yeah I am keeping them as is. I was stating that I have read others do different. I posted this to help others learn how to sex them if they are not at adult stage. I can't wait for them to expand for more.

thank u so much for this link!!!! Im currently trying to get a colony going and this will be very helpful. So far I have 140 roaches and had 17 adult males and only 6 females  now I will know which to get rid of!

I'm going to have nightmares from seeing those pics. They are even grosser than the bugs themselves.:D:D:D:D

Since the link I posted to help identify male and female dubia roaches was removed by higher power. Please remove this thread I have created that was ment to help others. Sorry if I did anything wrong.
