That is Mr. Lola the red tegu. And he is starting his hibernation wind down. He should completely bed down in the next 30 days and then wont move again till spring. Normally october till end of march.

What an interesting little creature! I did not know about hibernation with them. I can tell by his color he looks like a cutie.

Honestly, I'm still happy I made this thread, it does a good job of showing how chameleons communicate how they are feeling through altering their colours.

Taken at least a few years ago ( before we learned about getting rid of fake plants and crumbly vines…) She doesn’t get so riled up these days…. mostly annoyed with an open mouth but not serious angry colours
