So, I've had a wonderful umbrella plant in my cage before I moved. I got rid of the plant as it would have been difficult to make the trip with us and I spent most of my excess energy making sure my pets were taken care of during the move and not some plant. Anyway, after getting out here and setting up my cham's cage, I put a ficus in there (that was naturally fertilized - I was so very picky and ended up spending about $80 on just a nice plant, pot and soil!!!). My ficus just doesn't look good. My umbrella did so amazing in the cham's cage but the ficus is just dwindling. Ofcourse, I know ficus can be fussy when first being transpotted and put into a new location. Does it just take them time to thrive? It's not like I have many places in the cham's cage to put it. It's right there in the center like you would typically see. I want to atleast see if I can make it look better. It has a lot of green but much of the leaves fell off etc... If I can't fix it I'd like some ideas on other plants that are easy to maintain. I'll post pictures a bit later. I'm just so sad that it's not doing as well as I'd have liked.
