fearing impaction

I fed my one year old veiled a very small pinky mouse a week ago today and he has not defecated since. He's never had anything besides insects before then. Also, I began a colony of dubias the same day- he's had about a dozen in the past week. Is there a standard amount of time of no defecating before I consider the vet? What can I do to at this point?

A pinky is a huge meal for a chameleon...I would think it would take a lot longer to digest than a few insects...but its only my opinion.

Why are you feeding pinky mice? There just blobs of fat unless you want a over weight Cham.

Cut the pinkies out and get it back on stable items such as crickets, dubia roaches, silk worms, hornworms.

For more hood feeders, please look at the feeder database :)

you know the saying..."if it ain't broke don't fix it"! I wouldn't feed something that is unnatural to them. Can't say for sure if that is what is causing your cham to not go.
