Eye issue

Just got my little Squirt and from day one she has rubbed her right eye, not a constant thing but can see her almost squinting...reading other posts and talks about humidity which I’m working on getting the screen at least closed on 2 sides to hold the humidity more but I haven’t seen her eat but she is still super shy so that doesn’t mean she hasn’t, I’m worried though, her whole attitude has changed and she is very grouchy now. Any advice or tricks of the Cham world to make sure humidity is good?

Do you have a hygrometer?

Where do you live?
What specific UVB light (long linear, curly one, etc) and basking light (colored, white, led, etc) are you using?
What plants do you have in the cage?

I have the standard uv lighting(u shape) and basking light white, it’s the dual light fixture I see in a lot of the forums and what is normally with the “start up” any advice on what is best would be amazing! I have a bar uv in our large cage with a standard basking light,

plantsin the small cage are artificial ivy and such but the large cage I do have a live Pothos. I’ve researchedso muchand tried to have the right stuff but any advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED from any of the non newbies♥️

Hi. The u shaped uvb that you see a lot of is actually incorrect. The linear T5 ho with a 5.0 or Arcadia 6% uvb bulb is the correct type. If you’d like, fill out the following questions and someone can review all of your husbandry to make sure all is correct. With out little girls, it’s especially important to have everything perfect so they won’t have any egg laying problems. :)

Squirts is the smaller of the 2 I have put up a T5 bar light since then and also hooked up a mister and wrapped 2 sides with a clear shower curtain to help retain the moisture. I turn it on 3 to 4 times a day

These are both of my cages and I have a second plant I’m researching on if I’m able to put it in there with them, a lady gave us a HINDU rope plant and would love to put it in there as it has lots of little holes and crevices to hold the moisture but not sure if it’s safe. Any suggestions on if this set up look good or what should I change?!?!? Want to do what’s best for both of my girls

I was finally able to get a picture of the eye having the issue.....any suggestions?? I’ve put the hygrometer in her cage, wrapped all 3 sides in plastic, mist throughout the day and actually put a humidifier tube straight to the top of her cage so it drips and fogs through the day also

I would avoid humidifiers during the day, only use them at night. What are her humidity levels for the day and night?

I can only get maybe 20-30% unless the humidifier is on then it’s 60-75% I have a fogger and a humidifier(just started using and they both do exactly the same thing, I have a misting system set up but the programming is not working so I have to do it manually until the company can tell me what I’m doing wrong lol
