Im pretty sure calcium doesnt degrade but most other vitamins do exposed to air, light, temps and humidity. I would buy new for peace of mind
yeah,,, i think i will!!!! thanks, was just curious,,feeding just one, then two,,, the small container still lasts for ever.....

Kate how long have u used nutribol for.
I was using that for abit but have now changed to exo terra calcium with d3 and without.
I seen every1 going on about these supplements so decided to change from nutribol.

Before I was " educated" on here I used it every feeding because that is what the reptile shop advised. Needless to say the two separate veileds I had didn't live very long. The panther I now have was shipped from Surrey by a very knowledgable Herp keeper and his recommendation was nutrabol every 7-10 days and Komodo cricket dust every feed. When Popeye is not eating very well , like now I use repeshay calcium plus. I use nutrabol for my geckos as well.

Lisa - I also had that problem with suppliments expiring before I could use them all. What I started doing was to keep the entire container in the fridge (cool and dark), and having a separate 2 oz. souffle cup (or any really small container with a lid) kept outside the fridge that I used on a regular basis. Then, I only had a small amount of suppliments that were exposed to heat and light at a time. Just an idea for you

I have got a tiny little pot of exoterra plain calcium so don't mind chucking it so much but the calcium plus is in a huge pouch so will be very unhappy when that goes out of date
Do you keep it in the fridge?

Thanks Michelle.... I wasn't aware it would keep longer if kept in the fridge.... The next container I get I'll keep the majority in the fridge and just a bit out for feedings!!!!!!

vitamins degrade, minerals (like calcium) do not.
luckily vitamin free calcium powder is what you need most
limit exposure to air and light and temp changes and the vitamin products will last a bit longer than otherwise. Always replace at the expiry date (add the old stuff onto your compost pile).
If you dont have a lot of animals, consider buying with someone else and splitting it (keep in a dark opaque container with a tight lid). This will make it easier for you to justify buying fresh as often as you should
