I recently took a trip to the pet store with my daughter to buy turtle we ended up walking out the door with a baby Veiled instead..The pet store feed us with alot of miss information meaning none at all....They did not know how to sex the it nor did they know the age....over the last couple of weeks I believe I have set up the proper enviroment...Care....Feeeding...etc One area i am having trouble with though is the sex I believe that it is a female there is nothing that ican tell is a spur on its hind feet......Soo my question is at what age does a vieled start laying her eggs? and How often? If i had too guess wich I am she is fairly young 1 to 3 mnth old right now

She wont be sexually mature until you see yellow and blue spots on her, this means shes old enough to lay eggs.
Sometimes the females will change colors to a black background with robin eggs blue spots, but not always, and oftentimes not at all when gravid with infertile eggs.
a lay bin is required 24/7 once mature, as sometimes we miss the signs of eggs.
I just recently had a female panther lay eggs on me, and I didn't know she needed to until she was digging.
Female veileds can be the same way.
some signs of needing to lay aside from coloring:
pacing the cage
constant hanging out by the bottom of the cage.
chunky tummy right in front of the back legs.
lack of appetite.
these are a few of the symptoms of egg laying, but, you can have afemale who does none of this, or all of this, or just one or two, which is why we keep the lay bin in the cage at all times when a female is old enough to lay.
