hey guys!

What's best to use for lay bin? I bought some soil from a reptile place and she said also bark? Can I put these together for her laying bin? Or would you recommend sand & soil?

Also when do they start to get eggs she is 6 months old.

Thanks guys!

For years and years and years I've use a type of washed playsand produced by Kings that comes in a white bag with red, blue and yellow sand box toys of the outside of the bag. I make is barely moist enough to hold a tunnel. This sand has always passed through my chameleons if ingested accidentally or on purpose without any impactions being caused.

When they start producing eggs depends a lot on husbandry, rate of growth, how much you feed them, etc. They can start as early as four months or never produce eggs. Since it's so hard to know when they will start and sometimes when they are ready to lay that's why we recommend the laying bin be in the cage all the time from 4 months on. She should get mustardy yellow splotches and bright blue spots on her when she's mature.
