has anyone ever had dubias get Some kind of puss pocket on their wings so far I’ve only seen it on a few of the males I trashed them cuz I didn’t know if it was some kind of sickness

I know I didn’t take any I thought it would be a easy find on googling it sorry... but it legit looked like a blister when you get burned it had puss and all

That is not normal at all....I have only been able to find one other incident of it and no conclusion was reached... What are your enclosure parameters? Everything from heat source, to temps, to foods, etc?

I’m not sure the exact size not to small not to big lol... right now the temp at the bottom right where the heat pad is is 88.6 but sometimes at 90 and I feed mainly carrots when I’m lazy but I do the ice cube thing also that’s got carrots mustard greens kale collard greens an apple and a orange...but to be honest it’s been some work with this colony I got it for free from someone and when I got it it had mites I cured that in a few weeks they smelled really bad I think from the dog food they were feeding and now I find this thing it’s weird

You may need to cull this colony honestly... from the sounds of it they are all probably from a poorly taken care of bloodline because of where they came from. Sucky cause I hate that much death but even I would cull it.

@Andee i found one last night see what you think... I’ve only found it on the males tho and that was the last one I got the rest out the night I posted all this

Do you still have him? Could you freeze him and then maybe lance the blisters/boils? Do some sort of weird necropsy on him? (sounds horrible but Idk if it's infectious or a pest or they are getting bit by others and then it gets infected in weird ways?) Do you still have the colony itself? Idk how your other feeders are? If you have any others... I honestly might want to keep a small batch of this colony if you plan to cull it and see how it develops. Because it may just be some sort of weird infection from bites and poor food etc? I can provide you with some breeders (probably not enough to start a massive colony from the get go) but it is probably the best price you will get anywhere else. I will provide several hundred nymphs when I can convince them to come up (everyone has been cold so I am trying to raise the ambient temperature in the garage with a small amount of using a space heater on and off through out the day) they have been hiding a lot in the "substrate" in the bottom, which is dried greens and frass that the cleaner crew hasn't demolished yet XD. You may have to wait a week or so for my guys?

Shoot me a PM if you want some roaches from me! I can guarantee I haven't have any issues like that, most of my issues have just been like 4-5 prolapses a year when I have very very old breeders and I end up feeding them off.

I should be good on feeders I get mine drone a lady I know... we always hook each other up with for free her roaches are good I never had a problem with them but this colony I got from a different person but it was in very bad condition like I was saying it had mites and all I cured the mites this was the only new problem I found I didn’t keep the body tho it did cross my mind but I was like who would want the body lol I still have the colony I was thinking of just getting rid of all the adults and starting off with all the large ones that aren’t adults yet and see how that goes but if you want some for your own research let me know what part of ca are you from I’m in Barstow the high desert we might not be that far apart

I am wondering if it's and infection from some of the mites, do you know what species of mite it was? Was it a parasitic species?

Not exactly attached but crawling all over them and the bin I had to do a shake and bake thing with flour to get the mites off
