Doing Better

For those who followed my threads a few days ago about my poor sick little girl.... I stopped by the LLL Reptile store in Oceanside on Monday afternoon before my vet appt. A guy there, Jon, chatted with me for a short time about my chameleon and then asked to see her (Ihad left her in the car knowing i wasn't going to be long and that it was warmer in there) anyways... he looked at her and said that even though, she was a little dehydrated and couldn't see much (due to her loss of eyesight because of the UV bulb i was using... thanks Dave for catching that!!!) that she looked to be really strong. He recommended skip the vet, put her outside everyday in the nice warm sun, set up her new enclosure with the right bulb and get the right supplements in her. He suggested that all the vet would do is charge me a ton of money and give her some shots of which her kidneys probably couldn't handle anyways... so to give his way a try. He raises chameleons and so I trusted his word. Today, after only 2 days of trying it his way, she is so much better. her eyes are open, she's walking around as if she can see where she is going again, her color is nice, regardless of the fact that she is getting ready to shed, and she is just in all around better health, i think. I even got her to drink a failry good amount today from the mist bottle and was able to get a little 50/50 pedialyte in her too. I put 6 crickets in there and can only find 3... so either the other three are hiding or she ate them... anyways... i will keep you all updated. and many thanks to all who have helped me, its been a stressful last week but hopefully things keep looking up.

of course you can ask

Dr. Young at the animal hospital in San marcos on San marcos Blvd... i just dont remember the exact name of the vet
