Does this sound good?

Boy I make some gutload yesterday. My first batch. I believe I may overdone it.
But how does this sound:
Kale, Mustard greens, red leaf lettuce, pumpkin, yams, carrots, apple and orange. I added some wheat bran to thinken it up a tad. I added some Repashy super load to it and a little bit of Calcuim with D3.

I froze about 7 cookies sheets. I thinks I will be set for quite awhile.

Sounds like allot of gut load.:D I believe all of your ingredients are ok. Check out Sandrachameleon's blog to make sure.

I dont recommend using supplements in gutloads.

Other than that, the ingredients sound great!

Im not sure how much D3 (if any) would actually get to the chameleon, but you want to know exactly how much D3 your giving the animal.

If you give to much, it can be very bad.

How much of the D3 did you use in it?
About how much is other ingredient?

thank you

i think out of the batch I made I put maybe a teaspoon of calcium plus D3 the other Repashy was superload ( a dry gutload) So I think it shouldn't be so bad. I will definitely cut it out the next batch.

If you want to try to make up for some of the loss of vitamins with freezing...I think it was Sandrachameleon that recommended sunflower seeds, brewers yeast, bee pollen and spirulina...the last 2 I found at GNC in little capsules. Just a thought :) I throw some in my gutload when I make it.

Kale - okay, not great because it has high oxalates content
Mustard greens - excellent!
red leaf lettuce - not much nutrition
pumpkin, yams - good
carrots, apple and orange - not bad

For future batches replace the kale/lettuce with collard greens, turnip greens or dandelions (all rich in calcium). Butternut squash is also a good one that's high in calcium and other nutrients. The fruit/veggie nutritional chart linked in my sig is a great reference for making gutloads! It has a very concise nutritional info on most commonly found fruits and veggies so it's great to use. :)
