Does my veiled look healthy? what age??

this is fred my little dude, when i got him 2 months ago i was told he was 6 weeks but everyone said he was much older! hes my first cham so i hope hes doin ok! thanks xx

Hes a skinny adult, at least 9 months, if not over a year.

I would say around 6 months old. Where did you get him from?

He's definitely older than you were told . I'm pretty sure he's less than a year old though. I would estimate 6 months. It is difficult to be sure, as you can tell, it depends a lot on how he was kept. Ive taken a couple more pics so you can see his size better and sometimes he looks very fat & sometimes skinny lol

skinny/fat has to do with the banding of the tail. If you look at his tail there is alot of striations which means there is not alot of meat on him.

Here is a perfect weight in my opinion for most chams. A slight striation towards the upper part of the tail, but no bones showning, and its not so fat that the tail looks like a tube, its a very shapely tail

I'm not a veiled expert, but he does look a bit skinny. You don't estimate their over/underweight by the size of their belly

I agree he is a bit skinny. Judging him against my 4.5 month old veiled, I'd say about 6 months.
