nice big tree :) When you say dirty spots are you referring to the white splotches ?

They look like hard water spots.

They are hard water or sap spots. I get them off with a soft damp cloth - most of the time I chose to not see them.

Definitely hard water spots. I'd like to believe that sap discharge would be found in certain spots where the stem has been damaged. I think you have to use distilled/spring water to minimize the hard water spots?

definetely hard water, I use distilled water in my watering system, no dirty plants now haha try getting one of the big things of distilled water and using that, or try a filter on your shower head

i use nothing but distilled water also. They only look like that straight from the store. But the white spots wont come off no matter how much i soak the plant with sprayings. oh well i guess it will go away eventually then lol
