Dark colour

Hi I have a 4 month old male veiled chameleon, for the past 2 days he has been constantly dark in colour and seems really grumpy all the time. Is it normal for a chameleon to have mood swings?

Normally If a chameleon turns dark in colour it means he is stressed. I would recommend not handling him until his normal colour returns. Also make sure he is properly hydrated and that he is eating.

He doesn't let me handle him anyway, he puffs up and hisses and tries going for me he's hydrated very well but he's not going for his food
