Hi! I have a veiled chameleon, the last couple days (since his last shed) he seems to not want to be in his enclosure. His basking temp is perfect, he has a nice gradient throughout, all real plants and sticks, he’s eating, pooping and shedding all healthy.

My question is: does his colour seem unhappy? We have a larger enclosure coming tomorrow that we will start setting up for him with more room.

Could that be a factor in his grumpiness? As he’s grown it’s maybe not enough?

I’m not sure exactly how old he is, we got him June 15th, he’s had 3 sheds since we have had him. His basking temp is between 29-30 C and humidity is at 40%

How old is he now? Juvenile males as the begin to mature can get restless. Also check your temperatures they will try to avoid too much heat.
He also seems to enjoy being out, he will climb right onto my hand even if I’m just cleaning or taking out feeders. He hangs out on a plant we have outside his enclosure, he just hangs out on it

I will have to let others that have more experience with veiled answer the temperature question. 30C =86F. @Beman @MissSkittles

Many people free range their chameleons with constant supervision just be careful that he is spending the majority of his day in range of his UVB light.
