Cup feeding

I would like to do cup feeding with my Jackson for different reasons, one of them is to know exactly how many crickets should I feed him and to avoid escapees from the cage, so I have 2 questions:

What size of plastic glass should I use to avoid medium size crickets to escape?
and How do I get the cham not to be afraid of me?

Anytime I approach him, he wants to go to the other way, so I don't know how to make him interest in the cup.

I use a four inch deli cup that is made of white plastic(they will try and shoot through the clear not realizing its the see through, not go-through, lol) ans for how deep its only about 3 inches deep..if i only put a few crix in there, and sprinkle some calci-dust in the cup swirl them around to coat lightly and they usually stay in there..then set the cup up off the gound or bottom of the cage..and set it inbetween some vines or somthing...

i just posted in another thread that you commented on...like i said there, i just use the quart sized containers that you get at a chinese place...cover the outside with duct tape to make it opaque, poke holes in the bottom so your feeders dont drown, and poke holes toward the top to run a twist tie through and secure it through the screen...make sure there is a branch right above so he can snipe them out...i use one for my female panther with tongue problems, so she has to climb in there and sometimes the crix crawl on her back and get out...but you shouldnt have this problem...as far as him being afraid, its natural, you are much bigger and can be construed as a predator...try hand feeding and just give it time...hope this helps

Thank you all.
Justin is it too much to ask for pics? The Chinese guys here use the foamy plates with cover to put their food. So maybe a Pic will help me realize what you said and I can build something alike.

heres pics of mine..with a few holes drilled to keep excess water from drowning waiting crix..

p.s. i notice you cant see the holes on the bottom..the top ones where there for air, so the patotoe triangles stayed crispy(mine is from a thai food place, lol)

exactly how i got my chams to do this...once trust is built up they enjoy spending time with the "big chameleon" that takes care of them..

Well, yesterday I leave 3 crickets inside the cup and they still there this morning. I hope he gets hungry and looks inside for his meal.

Frustrating.... Yesterday after 2 days waiting for him to eat from the cup I gave up and put one in the vine he was on. He ate it super fast.

Finally he is starting to know that in there are some food. I started to find crickets missing from the cup. Should I wait some days to start removing the cup from the cage and start feeding him at specific hours?

No... Crickets and food need to be removed at lights off... They will nibble on your cham it they get out... I would start that immediately... Just place the cup in the same place each morning... Don't worry, they are smart animals
