Hey sallyb, I wanted to comment on your personal diagnosis of your chameleon.
You can't give up looking for a problem if your cham continues to sit on the ground. It's completely unnatural and a clear sign that something is wrong. Every chameleon (including yours) is a predator. They hunt. If yours is not hunting that's a another sign that something is wrong. Please don't chalk it up to personality.
The classic example is the chameleon that wags his tail. Oh that's cute, the chameleons happy to see me? - nope, a wagging tail means it's broken.
In the same way, a chameleon that lies on the ground is not trying to be sneaky..it's trying to not die. You need to try to find out why. We can try to help you, but a vet will help you th most.
Also - a note on the contest - Brad does the first round of cuts in the photo contest. He might have cut your photo for being too small, but he might cut it again if he decides that's too blurry, badly composed or badly exposed. In essence, Brad is the first judge before the photos come to voting.
