Coloration?

I have a baby panther a little over 2 months. He's not showing any color yet, and from what I understand all chams develop in size and coloration differently. Is there any way to predict what they may look like? In the pictures attached, I can see what I think will be his bars..is this any indication of what his bars will look like, regardless of what colors he might show?

That will be his bar pattern but there is really no way to know what his color will be. It takes two years for some panthers to develop their full true colors. Not saying you won't see brilliant colors before then, but like wine, they just get better with time. Panthers themselves vary so widely in colors even by locale. You just never really know what they might look like for another couple months or so. You can't even really go by the sires sometimes

Let me add...the bar pattern can change somewhat. I'm not sure if you are talking about the bars all over his body or the one that will run horizontally along his sides

Hi and welcome. Did they advertise him as a certain kind of panther? Or just panther?
The colours start coming in around 4 months I believe, some are late bloomers, but no way to tell the colours, unless you know the locale and or bar colour. Mine was advertised as a blue bar, so I expect his bars to be blue. But who knows, they change a lot as they grow.

Yea, as of right now we couldn't tell you if he'll be mostly green, red, blue or anything! If he's only 2 months old you'll see a dramatic difference in another 4 months, give or take a few weeks, and it'll continue to get brighter and more saturated well into his second year.

But yes, where you see his little dark bars is where his adult bars and patterns will be. We just don't know the colors!

Did you not get to see a photo of his father? Or what locale he is?

Bloodline

He is a ambilobe, I got him from sang at Komeleons (who has been awesome every step of the way so far).

He was sired his male acie, who was paired with a female from his sire Noki. I've attached picture of both. They are both beautiful. I am so anxious to see how keyser soze (i've named him after the usual suspects with kevin spacey lol) will look!

Male/female

Trace,

Breeder has been great. I would be very surprised if this was a female.

I can post more pictures when i get home but i've attached the pictures I do have on me where you can see his tail best.
