I find this typical of almost anyplace twice a year: at the end of the season so they don't have to keep taking care of them, and again at the beginning of the next season to make space for what's coming in.
I walked by those today and most of them looked really bad and they hadn't watered them in a while. Others had water so must have some other issues. Someone experienced might be able to salvage them, but for me I figured at a 50% discount, if one dies and the other lives, you aren't saving any money. I'm collecting plants right now, so I just got the lowest hanging pothos and called it a day.
