Clea is digging!

Hello everyone, i noticed lately Clea is carrying more eggs. Whether they are fertile or not i dont know. She has recently been going to corners of her cage and trying to dig so i ran out and got some organic soil and got her laying bin ready and put it in. This morning i misted her down and covered up her cage.

So i just took a 3 hour nap. I was really tired and i heard her shuffling around in the cage. I woke up, when to go check on her, and she is digging!

The eggs are most likely infertile but only time will tell. Wish us luck!

what are you going to do with all those eggs:eek:

I bet your parents might be regreting this a little bit......hehehe

ahah surprisingly no.

They are both very excited for all the babies and the experience will be amazing! Where they grew up...they have never really heard of a chameleon.

Stefan,, can you tell me the brand or organic soil you got??

that's exactly what i've seen and being a Miracle Gro product i figured it has some fertilizer in it. there is some print on it that says "continuously feeds for up to 2 months"...

In another thread you said..."She constantly looks likes she has eggs but she doesn't"...and I almost posted that you were wrong...but I held my tongue...guess I should have said it!

Good luck with her!

Thanks Guys.

She is still digging. It looks like she will sleep in the hole. Wish us luck

Also...i got the organic soil from the Publix flower department. Works like a charm and no fertilizers.

Good luck man. Maybe you will have a few that will turn out fertile. How long ago was it that she laid her clutch before this one? My female doesnt want to breed with the male and its been over 2 months. She seemed gravid to me because I fed her the one day and she did not stop eating for about a week, then she almost totaly stopped eating, I palpated her and felt what I thought was eggs. Week later and she is eating again. 2 weeks before she had that huge eating spree she weighed 102g, week later 112g, week later 120g (that was after she ate so much) I waited to see if she would dump and check if she weighed any less, she did twice.. I weighed her and she still weighs 120g so I am pretty clueless about her now. ... She has also been rejecting the male ever since she laid her first clutch this year.

Good luck with your female. Her first fertile clutch was laid December 16 and next Sunday will be 6 months for the eggs, So imagine. A 5 and a half month in between clutches!
