Chameleon spitting tongue onto my hand

hello all title says it all my new chameleon has started to accept me and trust me but noticed hes started to spit his tongue at me?? Whats the reasons?

Do you hand feed him? Maybe he thinks you come bearing treats?

He just likes you so much that tries to lick you lol

On a serious note, maybe he is hungry? especially if you normally hand feed him as the above comment says.

Panthers will "taste" things in their path. They don't shoot their tongue out, but lean their head down and touch something with their tongue - sort of like how a bearded dragon will do. I've never seen veileds do this and they are the only 2 types of chams I've ever owned.
