chameleon pottery

just thought i would show you people
well at school i take GCSE art and we've just done a mock exam, my title was colour and i thought nothing better to do then a chameleon
here is a few pics (sorry about bad quality) ive spent 7hours on making by hand, its now been fired and when i go back to school i get 3hours to paint it
its going to be a bright red, green, blue, yellow and abit or white chameleon, on a rich dark brown tree stump

and... ive almost finished my chameleon pottery now just done a 3 hour sitting of painting.. the joy

its not going to be fired unfortunately when it came out the kiln it had exploded in there, the whole of the left side of the body blew off and the two legs that side, but they are now glued back on and the paint is acrylic as it got the colour of the chameleon better then the pottery paints could, and it also hid the marks abit where the pieces broke off so thats basically what it will look like, theres a wash going ontop to just take the gleam off it then im oxiding the tongue and eyes so they are shiny so they look wet, then just touching up anywhere then im done

No super worm hanging out of his mouth like a cigar? That's fantastic work! I wish I had even a shred of artistic talent because that actually looks like fun. (Very time consuming but I don't have a very busy social calendar. ) I can't wait to see the finished product!

i didnt do no food item for it, as it would either have to be stuck to the tongue or made the tree bigger and then it wouldnt have fit in the kiln lol, and putting it on the tongue made it look weird so i left it off, and pottery is mega fun

Wow, Andy! That is beautiful! Shame that it broke in the kiln though - what a bummer after all your hard work. Hopefully when it's finished you won't be able to tell where the cracks were.

there was 3 of us who did a pottery piece and only mine blew up too it doesnt look too bad as its the other side from them pics but thats how it would be on display

That looks really awesome! One thing you could do is go to a craft store and find a butterfly or other bug and attach it to the tongue with a wire so it looks like the bug is flying above the tongue

awww thanks alot i just wish it hadnt have blown in the kiln, lets hope my real exam doesnt as im doing that in pottery again im better at it rather then painting or drawing etc..
