What plant lights are safe for chams.
Any that are full spectrum and use only white LEDs. The problem with colored LEDs (e.g. red & blue), aside from being gimmicks, is that if some go out, it causes the color/temperature of the remaining light to shift, which is not usually good for chameleons.
Was looking at the Arcadia Jungle Damn led bar. Just seems to costly. Just looking for a safe cheap plant light to use in the front of enclosure. Just not finding anything under 40 bucks. Any recommendations be perfect.
Cost is relative. Initial investment vs. lifetime costs.
You can get a single T5 grow light for under $30, but it will cost more to operate than an LED, you'll have to replace the bulb several times, and those bulbs contain mercury, and should be disposed of properly according to your local regs. Also, one may not be enough.
An LED will cost a bit more, perform better per dollar, last 5X as long, and contains no mercury.
The best bang for the buck that I know of is a
70W Sansi. It has the power to reach the nether regions of a 48" enclosure, rated for 50K hrs., and warrantied 5 yrs.

They have other choices, but the least expensive won't be powerful enough, and you'll need multiples to keep your plants healthy.
