Chameleon not liking shower?

I have a 6 month old veiled chameleon, and i was reading in the forums, and people were talking about giving chameleons a shower, so i decided to take my artificial tree plant in his cage, put it in the shower, and aim the shower head toward the wall and some of it hitting the plant, less than half of the plant had water effecting it, the water was warm/hot water, and i sat him in there on the plant, he kept trying to grab around into the air and fell over a couple times, after the 3rd time of him almost falling over and it seeming like he was freaking out, I put him back in his cage, did he just not like the shower or is there anything better i should do?

How long should I give it before trying again with not as warm of water?

Idk, probably a day? Depends on if he's dehydrated? Why were you showering?

I was showering since I heard overall it was still good to shower the chameleon either a few times a month, or once a week, and that they really enjoy them, thought it'd be something good to do for the chameleon, He is not dehydrated.

There is no need to shower them as long as you have an automatic mister, unless they are shedding.

Oh, thanks for the clarification, but I do not have an automatic mister currently.

How often and how much are you misting? How do you know he's not dehydrated? Unless you are misting 3-4 times day for a cumulative of 12-15 minutes during lights on, he will get chronic dehydration issues
