Hello everyone, it has been awhile since I have been on here, but we noticed today that Diego our 5 month male Blue Nosy be was chewing the bottom of the backing of his screened enclosure 18x18x36, this is made from foam (and is found here http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/background.php)... I'm sure this is not something that would be good for him  but just wondering if anyone has come across this issue b4... he has had this in his cage since we got him.. what possessed him to do so I have no clue. It is not like he was hungry since he has had 15 1/4" crickets and a few meal worms today. There has been no change in his behavior either.. any ideas why ? not sure how much he ate but there was about chunk about half the size of my pinky finger nail. We have removed the backing so now he just has screen enclosure all the way around!

My chameleon is just like a toddler getting into things! :D

can we have a full list of your care....try to fill out the how to ask for help form.

sounds okay as long as it passes.

I would recomend no backing for the back of his enclosure. Also, mealworms are not a good feeder. They are hard for chams to digest. Try superworms or silkworms. If you'll answer the ask for help questions and post some pictures we'll be glad to help you more.
How to ask for help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is some recommended information to include when asking for help in the health clinic forum. By providing this information, you will receive more accurate and beneficial responses. It might not be necessary to answer all these questions, but the more you provide the better. Please remember that even the most knowledgeable person can only guess at what your problem may be. Only an experienced reptile veterinarian who can directly examine your animal can give a true diagnosis of your chameleon's health.

Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
