for the first time today my cham ran from me. fell off her branch and another first hissed when i got my hand near her. is there a way to make sure this doesnt become habbit?

Your cham has to get use to you first. When I first got my cham, he wouldn't even stay at the front of the cage when I came to look at him. Everyday I would stand and look at him half an hour, an hour at a time. He finally got comfortable with me being around. After he was use to that, I would leave the cage door open and stand next to the cage, he would run to the back at first but eventually he stayed in the front.
I then would go to touch him, he would run off. But then he got use to my hand and allows me to pet under his chin.
Now when I open the cage door, he comes to the front and hops right on my hand, wanting to come out and chill with me. When I go to put him back in his cage and I feel bad because he makes a u turn and climbs right up my arm, lol.

haha, actually I am having the same problem with my baby. The only thing he does is hide in the back. We have like the same story except I just read this and im going to defintly try it. My 6 month old baby just runs to the back and rarely comes to the front. He only comes to the front when the lights turn off and he goes to sleep.

do you have anymore suggestions for me to be able to handle him a little better.

I know the cham wont come but try to hand feed. I would try and start with a worm, because you hand is flat while the worm walks around. It might grab his attention.

what kind of cham is she? veiled's seem to be the most hostile and take a while to tame...just gotta take it slow :)
