Hey guys

I have a simple question to ask. Can unbred female Chameleons lay eggs? I had a female chameleon a year ago, but she didnt live long enough to let me find out, I have another female, and Im wondering if she can lay eggs, even if she wasn't bred.

And if she can lay eggs, what signs should I look for, and what actions should I take?

Thank you

Yes, they will lay eggs without a male even being around. At the age of 5 month they will need a laying bin. If you keep them cooler and feed less it's possible to prevent eggs sometimes or at least keep the clutches small. Over feeding, egg laying and large clutches will definitely shorten your female’s life. You can get more info at my egg laying/laying bin blog.
