Yesterday about 5 pm Camille started digging in her plant. It was a large plant and if she chose that over the laying bin, I just allowed her to continue. She went to sleep in the hole about 1 am this morning......I was up most of the night. At 7 am she was back up digging again. When I checked on her again around 10 am she had the hole covered and she was just sitting in the dirt. She was a weird brown color......a color I've never seen her have before. At first she looked scared of me then I reached down and picked her up and put her in a cage. She didn't move around much but when I put a cricket loose in the cage, she nailed it. Then I gave her a silkworm and she ate that. Then I gave her a warm and very long misting and filled her dripper with warm water and she moved over under the dripper.......hopefully she drank. As soon as her cage dried a bit I gave her some heavily dusted (with calcium) crickets and she ate those and 2 more silkworms.
The eggs are not fertile. I have not allowed her and Luie to mate......but they do see each other all the time. My daughter (lbesok) said this probably caused her to have the clutch even though I keep her temps between 80 and 82 and only feed her 6 to 8 feeders (depending on the size) 3 days a week.
I am so thankful that she's ok. Jann
