Calais pics =D and quick question

Here is Calais after a good butterfly :p and a quick question, is it okay to give him butterflies regularly caught in my yard? Except for monarchs of course they are toxic. I get those little orange and brown spotted ones all over, and they are quite easy to catch with my new butterfly net! (which more resembles the jellyfishing nets in spongebob :p)

Wild caught every now and then, in very limited quantities is ok. Unless you're quite certain of exposure to pesticides and such. I gave Chazam a dragonfly a couple of weeks ago that I caught. I kid you not, it seemed to have put his a$$ in gear! He is an eating machine since that meal!! :D

I don't use any pesticides, I use diatomacious earth around the outer part of my yard but i haven't put it back down since it rained. It wouldn't harm him anyway. I have chickens too for pest control and fertilizer :D I have so many wild flowers and dandelions, plus flowers I have planted myself, that the butterflies are all over the place, as well as the grasshoppers!

Your critters could be coming from elsewhere that could be using harmful products.

How about if I catch a whole bunch and put flowering plants on my porch and let them free to reproduce on the screened porch? Like his own butterfly garden? are butterflies a good feeder in general? I give him roaches as well and a few phoenix worms every couple days. The store near me doesn't have much of a variety.

Not sure about your butterfly question but Calais certainly is looking handsome. I bet he's enjoying his new free range.

Thanks Jann :D I've been fattening him up. He does like it, but today got pretty cloudy all of a sudden so I had to put a heat lamp out there so he can bask.
