about to but a new cage 2x2x4 from lllreptile, Flchams, or Diy cages not sure yet. woundering who has the best quality for the price, any help would be great:D

I bought one from LLL with the extra drainage tray and it is really good quality and the way they setup the bottom front so that you can tilt the screen up to clean the cage bottom without opening the door is thoughtful. I am sure that others do this as well, but I absolutely love the drainage tray so I got the whole thing from them.

I have the same size you are considering from LLL. I will be purchasing the next set of cages from DIY. I like the fact that DIY has a real handle on the door for ease of entry into the cages and they have better hardware. So if you want the cheapest go with LLL if you want something a bit nicer go with the DIY. Btw, the cage drainage trays will still fit your diy cage so thats not really an issue.

i like all of that, sounds good... ;) but, please help me remember if the diy cages have the "kickplate" at the bottom for easy cleaning, as the lllreptiles does.... i've done sooo much searching i'm getting my notes confused...:(

thanks,, lisa

Yes, DIY has the kick up plate if as long as you don't install the 2 or 3 screws in the bottom. It's designed to go either way. As for the color, it's silver/chrome with black screening.

The only problem I have with the screening is my reptifogger condenses way too much water on the screen so the fog can't get through but if you cut part of the bottom of an upside-down margarine container out & put the hose through there, it seems to give a wide enough area so the fog will keep coming through.

LLL and FL are the same... and DIY is made in China... from my understanding the DIY are made of steel and will rust eventually.

DIY is metal screening but it is also coated in plastic to prevent rust. As far as the difference, I prefer the DIY as my LLL one is harder to open (no handle) and doesn't lock as securely.

which will wear off, and then rust. where as aluminum screen doesn't rust.

thanks
