Building terrarium!

You would have to be on top of cleaning out the bottom pretty frequently, which could be a real pain. Grainage is pretty simple...Why is it not an option? If you were to raise the enclosure even a foot off the the ground I think it would give you enough space to drill some holes in the bottom and have some kind of Pan, or tray underneathe to catch the water. That sounds a lot easier then having to wash those who know how many times a week. After you first 5 min misting I imagine the towels would be pretty damp already...and bacteria is one thing that reproduces QUICKLY in a warm damp place. With my cages I like to be able to mist 30-45 mins into the cage if I wanted to without having a mess, This allows me to not have to worry about taking them into the bathtub if I want to give them a "Shower"...Instead they get to stay comfy in the cage and I shower them there if needed. Works nice.

I really like the look of your cage though... This would make it a lot easier for you in long run.

Okey, thanks! The prob is that the wood that is the bottom, it is tree spill wood. you know that which gets over after sawing tree's and stuff. And they glue it together into lumber. My english is not that good sorry. Well. The wood gets easily destroyed from water. Thats why i painted 4 layers with water proof paint on the wood. Imagine if the wood would get destroyed from water if i drilled wholes..But its a good thing! :) Its a great idea though! Thanks for the advice.. I will try to update my terrarium asap. cause i need a mistsystem ,and in sweded, those are UBER expensive.. They cost about 280$... And in the US . 160$ abouts..

You know if Mistking or the other company can ship to europe?

Your english is pretty good.:) I understand you better than some people who have been speaking english their entire lives.

Not sure if they would ship overseas or not... Both Mistking and HerpMist are members on the site... You should be able to get in touch with them fairly easy to ask. I have one enclosure that has a wood bottom. The way to do it is to drill holes, then sand and apply a few coats of waterproof finish. With the sanding, depending on the thickness of the wood, you can actually sand in a slope towards drainage holes.

You may even be able to find a pan that is the exact dimensions of your cage, and just take out the floor of your cage and replace it with something that can catch water.

Also another big thing I just thought about. That foam is going to be a disaster when it gets wet(and it will if you are misting properly), unless you grout it and seal it... You want to create a surface that will allow water to run off, and that can be wiped down and sanitized if you needed to. With just the foam... You are going to ruin your hard work with the misting.

But the foam is treated with waterproof paint underneath the spraypaint. Does the foam melt with the water or?
Dammit dont give me too much things to do :p
