Breeding/laying bin

Hello all! how are you all? I currently have two Veiled's, Yoda and Alaska, the female, Alaska is a translucent. I will be planning on breeding them soon but i was curious as to the minimum dimensions i should have for the laying bin/box/pot? Also can i use coco-husk as the dirt? it seems like it would hold itself pretty well. Thank you!!!

I recommend an opaque container at least 12" x 8" x 8" deep. Bigger is better though. I recommend using washed playsand that is moist enough to hold a tunnel but not soaking wet. I use a type produced by Kings that comes in a white bag with yellow, blue, red sandbox toys in the front.

I've used the same brand of washed playsand for about 25 years. It has always worked. I don't usually lose a female to eggbinding or have a female that doesn't dig in it because she doesn't like it, etc....so I don't fix what ain't broken! :)

you do just sand not dirt??? i heard 50/50 from other people. And it seems like moist coco husk would hold itself or no?
My girl has a very complicated lay bin setup. My husband calls it her box of dirt. That's really all that it is. It needs to be opaque so she can't see me peeking in on her, and it has to hold on to a tunnel. I use coconut fiber and top soil, she just didn't like the sand.
