Blood and Cloaca

There is a ring of bloody tissue prolapsed from my male carpet chameleons cloaca. There is also some kind of whitish spike or plug sticking out of the bloody ring. I don't think he's actually bleeding, I just think the tissue has allot of blood vessels. Is this normal or serious? I misted the area, because if it isn't normal, I figured getting dry might be bad.

Any Ideas?

Any mucous-type tissue protruding from the vent should be kept moist with K-Y jelly. If its a prolapse then you need to get it to a vet right away if it doesn't retract quickly.

Can you post a picture of it please.

I guess it wasn't that serious. I kept it moist and and after about 40 minutes, he seems to have reeled whatever it was back up in there. If it happens again, I'll get a photo.

Thanks,
