After 3 failed attempts, a bit too much money & months of confusion & frustration, I think I am just about finished building his new home. It has screen top & sides but the frame is kiln-dried pine. I am having a hard time figuring out what would provide enough protection for the wood so that I hopefully wont have to do this again for very long time. I know whatever I use will have to sit for some time before I move him in so I'd like to get it finished asap. I was thinking something like Cabot Gold-sun drenched oak, might be good. Its made for decks & outdoor furniture. It says it protects against UV damage, extreme temperatures, rain & moisture. However, it also says for outdoor furniture only. I'm not sure why thats on there. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'd really appreciate it. I am far from being a builder of any kind-As I have now learned, the hard way, I have no clue what I'm doing other than trying to give my little guy a safe, comfortable home where he'll be happy.
