behavior question?

just a quick question. What behavior will my 4 month female veiled chameleon show when she is gravid. Usually she wants out but lately she has been flaring her colours,gaping, puffing out her chin and hissing when i get near. she looks a little wider than usual so I'm not sure if shes gravid or what. Here is a picture of her not so happy self.

I believe the behaviors you are referring to are typical for chameleons entering adolescense. When gravid they will typically eat less, explore the bottom of their enclosure, and turn very dark colors. If you are worried that she is gravid, you can always put an egg bin in there just in case.

she has been down near the ground looking around and has darkened up a bit. She hasn't turned off food but i don't see her drink, is this a problem. How should i go about doing an egg bin.

She doesn't look Travis and it is unlikely that she is. To make an egg laying bin get a container that is twelve inches deep and fill it with moist sand or compost. I use a 50:50 mixture of both. I use a bucket for my laying bin. Make sure the plastic on the laying bin is not clear either. I generally have a laying in with my female from six months of age.
