I was concerned about the drinking too. I seen them eating but hadn't seen any drinking until today.
I'm used to my chams licking the leaves or opening their mouths when the mister is on. But today I saw my little girl shooting her tongue at water drops that were a good 2 inches away.
She's so small the drop didn't even fall off the leaf and she got another shot of it!

I have seen all of them basking at least once so far though. I have the day of of work tomorrow so i will be recording as much as possible

You asked what temp-gun Im using in the other thread I think. Its the zoo-med one, I dont know if its crap or not, but seems to be accurate when compared to my digitals thus far. You just have to get really close with it, as it only measures within an inch accurately.

I need to get a solar meter soon, all the local shops were out of 24" reptisuns, so Im using a reptiglo on them atm. Im not really worried about it, but I would like to know exactly what Im working with though.

Now this is getting ridiculous! Laurie, bob, dean, showjet and snizzy!! I dont think i can take this. My jealousy is officially in complete overload.

The pumilums like it hot and I mean hot it was 85 with high humidity here over the weekend and I put plywood over the top of the cage and they were still trying to bask in it.

Wow, Im scared I wont be able to have these outside much actually. ;/
Its already been so hot that Ive had to bring my xanth in on occaision, and I just cant see these things handling more heat than her! Guess we will find out though.

Guys why have I not seen mine eat? I assume they are but I sure haven't seen it. I have given the ff's pinheads and tiny phoenix worms. Now I will start panicking over them eating or not. I have to go to Great Falls on Sat to collect my grandsons. How can I leave these tiny babies home alone? Hubby nor grandsons will understand if I stay home. Life is not fair. I need to watch my babies eat!!!

You should give them room don't keep looking and going back looking and going back. If your going to look get a chair and watch but no fast movements. They will eat I was more concerned with drinking at first.

I didnt see them all drink, but at least one of them was lapping up a bit of water after I initially sprayed them down.

Thats what I do, sit a chair across from them, not too close, and sit still and watch them. My male was eating with me right in front of him though.

The two females seemed to hide alot more. Im not sure if it is because they are in a new place, and have been through a ton of shipping, or if the male is scaring them off. Im going to watch closely tomorrow, and if its the latter, Ill separate them.

Great man I only asked about the gun, because different guns measure different areas at different distances. For instance, my temp gun(made by Fluke, cant remember the model) at 12" measures an area of 1" diameter, so at 1 foot I get the average temp inside that 1" circle. Which makes it hard with such a small cham, I need to get really close. With the zoomed one you should be just fine, thats what its made for

Agreed Dean. Mine all seem perfectly content on their branches in the sunshine at 85 degrees no problem. Not attempting to move to the shady part of their enclosures.

The male is about to go into full shed I think, and he is being much more stand-offish.

The smaller female has a great personality, she is my favorite so far.

Ive increased temps to 73F ambient, and 85F at the very hottest point.

Male:80F

Large Female:79F

Smaller female: 79.5F

They basically just eat continuously, but roam in and out of the hotter zones, into the lower zones and back, all making a circuit, sharing areas. They look like they are on parade.

Those shots do NO justice to them and dont show any of their colors I know when I had them here they were showing lots of greens and oranges. I wanna see full enclosure shots too!

Lol, well, when I go to take pics, they get all scared. ;(

Im going to do a video of how its set up, hopefully today.
Its Stella's old exo-crappa cage.
I love the design of them, but the materials are crap, and warp under heat quickly. The top was really the only peice I had major problems with. I fabbed a new one so I could use it for these guys.
The bottom is a tray, that everything "clicks" onto, so it makes it easy to fill it with soil/plants. Theres holes drilled in the bottom, and it fits perfectly on top of a sterilite bin, which any excess water can drain into.
This is temporary, and Ill be sticking them in a larger screened enclosure next weekend probably.

The male hasnt really shown much color yet. ;/
He has a spot of shed on his side, but has not actually shed yet.

The females do, and yes, those pics dont do them justice!
They get really bright, and you can see their little "nodular scales" on their arms/tails highlighted.

I may need to adjust camera settings. ;/

I feel like I'm going to have to borrow Jann's camera to photograph these guys! My macro setting can't come close enough to these shy little things. I'm afraid that we're going to be showing off a lot of blurry photos in the coming months! lol
